Postpartum Nature Walk
Postpartum Nature Walk
Join Doula For The People for a Postpartum Nature Walk, a gentle, community-centered offering designed to support postpartum people in reconnecting with the healing power of nature, right here in our own backyard.
We believe that nature is one of our most accessible and powerful sources of nourishment and restoration. Spending time outdoors and in green spaces has been shown to support lower stress levels, reduce anxiety, promote healthy blood pressure, and improve our overall sense of well-being. Natural daylight also supports healthy circadian rhythms and sleep, while safe, appropriate sun exposure can contribute to vitamin D production.
For postpartum people navigating the physical, emotional, and spiritual transitions of life after birth, spending intentional time in nature can offer an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with our bodies, and find grounding in the rhythms of the natural world.
Led by a nature-based doula from the Doula For The People collective with 8 years of experience supporting postpartum people, these monthly walks invite postpartum community members and their little ones to gather, move gently, breathe deeply, and cultivate connection with themselves, one another, and the land.
This gathering will include a gentle , accessible nature walk followed by a guided meditation, journaling and reflection circle, and light nourishing snacks. Our hope is to create a welcoming space where postpartum people can experience the restorative benefits of nature while building meaningful community with others navigating this season of life. Our First Gathering: Alvarado Park Loop
Friday, October 23, 2026
10:30 AM–12:30 PM
Alvarado Park Loop | San Pablo, CA
Near Wildcat Canyon Regional Park
For our first gathering, we'll explore the beautiful Alvarado Park Loop, an easy, scenic walk nestled in the foothills of Wildcat Canyon.
We'll move at a gentle, inclusive pace, making space to pause, breathe, connect, and take in the natural beauty around us. Following our walk, we'll gather in a grassy area of the park for a guided meditation, reflective journaling, community connection, and light snacks.
What to Bring
A comfortable baby carrier or wrap. Babywearing is a must as portions of the trail may be uneven.
Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate layers.
A blanket or something comfortable to sit on for our closing circle. A doula will be in the area to watch people’s belongings.
A journal and pen, if you have them.
Water, sunscreen, and anything you or your little one may need during our time together.
All walking paces are welcome. This is not about how far or fast we move, but about creating intentional space for rest, connection, and nourishment.
Come as you are, with your baby, your whole self, and whatever this season of postpartum life is bringing you.
We look forward to gathering with you on the land. 🌿
